Today, for the first time, i checked trans oil level. Car been sitting for days, and it shows that it's above HOT level. The car was used for about 5 years, made about 50 000km just fine, the gearbox works well.
It's a 2005 2.4b V70 with auto gearbox.
What's showing on your dipsticks?

Did you check the fluid with the engine running after the car has warmed up? (the purists will want the fluid to be at xx temperature measured with VIDA)
+1 on using VIDA. For the newer transmissions like the Aisin 6 speed autos, the fluid is measured at a temp of 55C - which is why you need VIDA or similar tool. Since the fluid does expand with temp the older cars give a hot and cold level on the stick to get you close and there's a recommended driving cycle to warm the transmission for the "hot" level check (Google should find something for ya). Judging from the color on your dipstick, your fluid was either recently changed or the car has very low miles.
