Question Hot and Cold

I have a 2004 V70 2.5T. I am having heating issues. If you set both temp controls to 80 one will blow warm to hot and the other cool to cold. It changes from the drivers side to passenger depending on the day. Sometimes they both work fine and other times they play their game. I just had my 105k service and we checked for any error codes and none showed up. The current suggestion is to drop $80 on software and try to reprogram it. The other option is to buy a used unit from a wrecked car and then pay $80 to marry it to the car hoping it works. I will anything but I don't want to waste any extra money. Any thoughts??

Could there possibly be a broken door/actuator?

Default Still Hot or Cold

So my problem is the same it is either very Hot or no heat. I have seen two different shops and one dealer. It does not throw any codes. The Dealer wants to replace the whole Ecc unit to the tune of $875.00 + Labor! Any other ideas out there?
