Default Leaking from Drain Plug!

How tight do these drain plugs need to be? I've got it to about a 1/4 turn past finger tight (which is more than plenty on my other cars), but it still drips oil. Any tighter, and I think I will start rounding the bolt. Am I supposed to tighten it more than that? By the way, this is WITH the copper washer.

1. Next oil change do your self a favor and get an aluminum washer.
2. Condition of the drain plug?

I say to use aluminum washer because with the copper washers I have seen people tighten it so tight it actually pulls the drain plug through the built in washer.

How about rubber washer or o-ring?

I would just use an aluminum one. When you tighten it you can feel it start to crush and leave it there.

But inspect your drain plug really good and see if the washer is cracked around the head of the drain plug.
