Mouse nest under air filter-heating problems
Hello, this is my first time working on my 1998 V70 glt turbo. I am having a heating issue. I can hear a low whirring noise behind the dash by the steering wheel. There is heat but the blower is not blowing. When I set the fan on automatic or full and turn the center dial from defrost to heat, I hear that low sound like it is trying to move. Sounds like plastic a plastic vent trying to open or close, but the fan doesnt come on. The car switches from AC to off AC like it is supposed to when I change the settings. I checked the cabin filter and it was okay. I checked the air filter and found a huge animal nest taking up the entire space and blocking the air into or from the engine. I removed the nest and vacuumed it out and replaced everything. Still no fan, just the stuggling sounds. Could I have another nest behind the dash panel? I have been reading the forums, and I think I could change the blower if the part is the same as in my 1994 850, however, this gal does not understand relays or resistors. :o Would like any thoughts on anthing else I should look for before I start taking apart the glove box to access the heater motor.
