Default New V70 T-5 - Very Odd Behaviour

Hi, I'm new here - recovering from a nasty Saab Habit. I recently bought a 2002 T-5 V70 FIVE SPEED MANUAL - what a score! I am in love with this car. I've had it for a week and this morning strange things started happening. I clicked the "Unlock" on the keyless entry remote and found that it wasn't unlocking the drivers side door - but it was unlocked the other three. So I manually unlocked the door and got in to find that the switch cluster in the door - window buttons and such - was clicking frantically. THere was nothing I could do for it. The window buttons worked hesitantly and finally I heard a relay click noise and the passenger side window just stopped working- stuck down on a 14 degree morning. ugh. I then played with the fuses. Checked all the possible culprits - no burnt fuses but i swapped the one to the doors anyway.

Problem fixed.

?????????????? The fuse wasn't burnt I swear.

THEN, this afternoon sitting in traffic, I suddenly lost about 75% power. I had to rev the motor quite a bit to get going more than 20mph. it felt like a bad clutch. I made it home feeling quite depressed at the prospect of a $1200 repair. Well I went back to investigate a little more an hour later, and suddenly everything was fine. car drove as if nothing had happened.

Was the car driving in what they call "safe mode"?

I then noticed a yellow triangle and a message that read "service required." well according to the manual this is nothing dire, but if the car is pulling antics like it was this afternoon, i'd say that's pretty dire especially since i'm about to take it on a 700 mile road trip.

An hour later while running errands, the yellow light and its corresponding message stopped appearing. It has yet to reappear. ??????

Any insight would be most appreciated as I am in total shock after knowing so much about older Saabs and being confronted with how little I know about Volvos.

Cheers!

I had the same trouble with my 98 V70 T5. My expert mechanic said that it was the throttle position sensor and my ABS controller which both need replacing. I ended up in limp-home mode after a 90 minute drive on the highway after buying the car.
