passenger door "locks" but still opens
 

Hello all, the passenger door on my '99 V70 recently developed a frustrating quirk: it appears to lock but the door can still be opened from the outside, which sets off the alarm. Has anyone else experienced this or have any tips on fixing it? I live in an area where I'd rather not have my car that easily accessible...

I think I had a similar problem with my V70. The door actuator was done, so I could still set the alarm etc, but you would be able to open the door from the outside... alarm would then sound.

I could also push the door locking mechanism into a perminant lock position, so it could only be opened from the inside.
