Default replacement motor for v70 glt 98

I havnt found any outside of ebay and they had high miles. I may have to pass on a $450 v70 because I cant find a motor to throw in it.

motor in it is bad. overheated and broke a piston

Default What are you saying?

Hello, The engine has to be from E-Bay? Jasper, or local rebuild shop, can't get one? Are there no indies (with a yard of donor cars) where you live? What's your approximate location? Kira

sorry. I prefer it not to be off EBay actually.

I am in Louisiana. so far I havnt found any but I am not sure where to look. been so long since I tried to buy a engine I forgot.

I figure there might be a place in Dallas that has one but not sure where to look.

I need to find one quick or else I got to pass on picking up a clean 98 V70 glt for $450

if I cant find a motor then I am going to try to buy a 96 850 w/90K miles and runs great.(this is really the option I like better )

Default You're right

Hello, Grabbing the '96 850 is the better way to go. Man, I've seen some of them with hideously rough paint. Kira

the v70 looks sharp but its got 2x the miles. I am waiting on pics of the other. its about an hour from me.

I am leaning towards the 850 as its a non-turbo also. less headache

Default Oh Yeah

Hello, Both of our V70's have been non-turbos. If we lived in a mountainous area I'd consider a turbo. If we lived in the High Southwest (Nevada, Utah, 4 Corners etc.) we'd likely have a turbo. They do well in the thinner air. Louisiana is neither mountainous or >5,000' above sea level. Kira

I emailed Jasper. Looking for other options.

Paint on the 98 would actually clean up nice. But it is a $450 car. It's cleaner that you would think
