Anyone know of any other than the one they need to order from Volvo? I don't have time to ship them so even a universal one size fits none would be ok.

Thule and Yakima make crossbars. There is a guy that has set of Volvo ones for sale on Swedespeed.com, now. That is where I got mine NIB for $100.

 

I bought the Thule 440 Rack with the Clamp Style base and 50 inch cross bars to fit the 2001 V70 Factory Rails. This rack was spec'd for a Subaru but was a near perfect fit for the V70.

Thule has made a base that secures with a Strap under the rail and one that clamps onto the rail. The clamp is a nicer look and very secure. It looks like Thule only has strap style that goes under the bar now and is not making the clamp anymore. If you can find the older model or used with the clamp I'd get them.

The set I have was missing the rubber pad on the inside of one of the clamps. I fixed this by gluing in a pice of high density foam pad using black RTV. The foam compresses and forms to the rail bars for an exact fit even better than the Thule rubber pads that come with the racks. You can get the Foam pads from foam rubber flooring squares available at the Home Depot or Lowes type store. Just cut the size you need if you have a damaged or missing pad, or not an exact fit clamp.
