Roof rack question
 

I have a 98 v70 awd and found a 98 xc at the junk yard. If I take the roof rack off of the xc, will it fit on my v70 with out problems? I figure this is a dumb question but I want to make sure before I get it. Thanks

Absolutely it will fit. The cars are identical other than the engine, tranny and sending power to the rear wheels. Make sure you take the roof trim pieces off the junked XC70 and install them with the rack onto your car. You'll want to remove the trim pieces starting at the lower corner of the windshield on each side and go all the way back to where the pieces stop by the tailgate. I've done the same thing as you're doing but I only had the rack and not the trim so I had to determine how to cut the existing trim to work with a new rack mounted over it. Use a small putty knife/scraper and wrap the metal blade several times with masking tape so that you won't likely mar up the paint job on your car when you go to pry out the trim. Its a 1 hour job but very easy. Definitely need a torx set, putty knife, and maybe a utility knife. e-mail me at jason.aileo@yahoo.com if you run into problems.
