Thumbs down 98 v70, Lost Power To Wheels While Driving

Was driving to work, going about 40 mph, when power to the wheels suddenly dropped out. Felt the transmission was in neutral.

I coasted it to safety then the gears grinded into "park." The transmission will not engage to "reverse" or "drive."

The only thing I think might be related: I just replaced the CVs a few months back and recently started getting a rumbling at the wheels if I took a corner fast or hit the gas on a turn. Could this be related?

On a side-note, it could use a transmission fluid change.

If a CV axle pops out it will stop dead in its tracks.
