Default Stuck Tie Rod? How to get it off or adjusted?

I tried the other day to get my V70 T5 (2001) aligned. However, they were not able to adjust the tie rods. In doing so, they stripped the nut to adjust the tie rod.

Does anyone know how to work out this problem? I went to my Volvo dealership and they wanted to sell me new tie rods for $90 (each). Can you believe that?

Any help would be appreciated

Do you mean that the jam nut is rusted stuck? Start with a heavy dose of PB Blaster every day for a few days. Then jack up one corner at a time, chock the other wheels, use jack stands, etc, and go to town with a large pipe wrench.

Now would be a great time to replace your tie rods, then take it for alignment.

You can also try a big pipe wrench to get the nut loose.
