Default Symptoms due to coil?

Hi There ,

Have a V70 T5 that used to start but would not maintain combustion and after a while cut out. We have checked the plugs ( replaced) distibuter (cleaned) and fuel filter (ok) . We noticed that sparks were coming from the coil when we where trying to restart the car - ( it stopped short of full combustion after truning the ignition) . There where sparks comiing from the coil. On closer inspection we notices a few cracks so now in the process of replacing. Are the staring symptoms the result of the coil - or should after replacing should we be looking elsewhere ? Help and advice gratefully appreciated .

You're coil is definitely bad; replace it and go from there. You may have other problems to be addressed but right now the coill is highest priority...

Default Thank You for your advice - resetting computer system

Thank you for your help and advice regarding the coil . Now replaced coil and shifting attention now to the high use of fuel and dodgey emissions from the car .
Have decided to replace the two lambda sensors in the hope that this will remedy the problem . Does anyone know how to reset the cars computer system once the sensors are in place.?
