Default T5 engine into v70 2.4 lpt - Cant find definitive answer..

Hello all, Ive searched the web for this but cant find a definitive answer, alls i seem to get is "upgrade your original 2435cc lpt" or "your better off buying a t5 instead" What i want to do, solely because i can not afford t5 insurance, it would kill me, im young and can afford 2.4lpt insurance, i have had 3 different lpt's.. They go well but not well enough. What i want to know is this, If i go out and buy a v70 t5 what would i need to swap over onto my 2.4t?

Obviously the engine, ancilleries, "gearbox?" & ecu, exhaust, what else specifically would i need to swap?

complete loom?

Am i right in thinking the best way to do it would be drop the whole bed and bolt it to the other car? Or is there a quicker easier way?

Many thanks in advance.

Default Alternate way

Hello, Perhaps buying a "Stage 2-5" setup from IPD or Abbott Racing would be the easier, and cheaper, way to go. The system would remap your turbo boost, fuel delivery and spark. If you bought programmed chips you could restore the original base performance on inspection day. Exhaust options are available. Any suspension upgrades would be new-as opposed to the aged bits from whatever donor car you found. Kira

the answer varies with year model. I installed T5 engine into my 98 XC70 and then installed a T5 ECM later when I found one. 98 allows ECM swap as long as you do not have immobilizer. If you have immo then you remove it and use a non-immo ECM. USA did not use immo. 99 and later have the immo and all the ECM's will have immo and that stops you from swapping ECM.
