Timing mark issues
Hello all. Worming on a 98 t5 2.3 turbo v70. I just got the heads back from conditioning and new valves installed. Heres my issue, the marks on my cams are in question. Ive lined up the crank mark with the oil pump. Its right in between the hashes. When i put the o take and exhaust at 2 and 11 respectively, i get interference. If i move them to the 12 oclock positon, same thing. Mind you i just did the heads some im not tring to shell out 500 more dollars for bent valves. Am i missing something here? I was aware that in 98 there could be two different marks. Neither are working for me. Do i have to dine true tdc on the crank? What's going on

Thanks for the reply. I dont have the cam tool to lock them. I will have to get one. The head is on already tho. Will this be a issue if i just pop the cam cover off and reseal the cover?

You can always clean off the sealer and roll new on. Look at the picture of the tool - note the notches are parallel - and they are offset from center, so hopefully yours are in that position and not 180 out. .
