Timing Marks (Cam & Crank) Timing Belt
I'm in the process or performing the 105,000 mile service on a 2003 V70 non-turbo. I see the marks on the cam sprockets (on the outside) but nothing on the inside to align with at the head. I believe the cam sprocket markes are to be vertically aligned with the engine but not sure, the belt slipped and I lost my cam reference. There is a "V" on the pulley that appears to be at the bottom and what looks like a mark on some device behind the pulley which seems to align with a small casting mark on the block. My belt slipped with I was taking it off and I am somewhat confident the crank marks are 'right' but I am not sure how the cams are referenced from.
Thanks for any and all support or advice. Erik |
RE: Timing Marks (Cam & Crank) Timing Belt
For the Cam marks the top timing cover is the refrence for the marks. Slide the cover on and line them up.
