Tire Load ratings

I could use some help, i'm very confused. We have a 2008 V70 that has a load rating of 98. I've been getting different answers from different tire places about what to replace with. Discount tire said have to replace with a tire with 98 rating, otherwise we'll wear down the tire faster. Another national chain was pushing 94 rating and didn't seemed concerned at all, was more concerned about speed rating.
Does that load rating really matter? If you can answer that, then I'd luv some thoughts on good all season that handle snow. : )

It all depends on what you want to do and where you want to go with your vehicle.
