rough acceleration and limited to 4000 rpm
Hi all,
I do hope you can help. Currently own a V70 T5 (2000 - New old shape) and yesterday coming out of the services put my toe down to accelarate (hard) all was well then there was an almighty pop sound and the engine lost power. Took pressure of the throttle and cruised home. On gentle acceleration no problems above 3000 rpm makes horrible growling noises, and wont exceed 4000rpm.
Went out last night and it really struggles up steep hills (loss of power, no acceleration).
This morning car started but took some time to do anything useful. As soon as it was put into drive and the throttle pressed the enging stalled lost power, back to nuetral no problems. I have checked under the bonnet and all is well in there with no obvious pipes disconnected etc.
Any help would be great as my local volvo garage costs £45 an hour in labour (thats $70). And really its about time i started doing the work myself.
