Picked up a v70 few months back. It's preface lift. In spotless condition. Been an absolute dream to own. However the stereo today decided to play up. Every passenger side speaker has stopped working. It's an older system as is the car but sounds incredible ( when working ). It has the 4 Multichanger cd player with the prologic and 3 channel settings. The bass is really good. It's the D5. I think it might be a reasonable spec for It's time but not familiar with the volvo trim levels.
Anyone else had this? Really keen to get this sorted as it's a bit of a dealbreaker for me Cost wise is not so important as I consider worth it. Read something about amp under passenger seat.
What year, and model number on the front of the tuner?
Hi
Car is 2003
Its HU-803 head unit. 4 Disc player.
Also has the booster amp under the drivers seat model number 8673135.
Was thinking starting with the amp under the seat.
Maybe one of the channels has blown.
Unless it has its own fuse and the right hand speakers are run by the head unit. Seems unlikely.
Unfortunately I don't know enough about it.
Hoping the booster amp is plug and play and won't need coding, as looking at used ones currently.
Would be amazed if a new one is still available.
The amp (if equipped) is mounted under the RF seat. Water leaks are common and that water can get deep enough to damage amplifiers. All of the speakers are powered by the amp and there is only one 12v input, only one fuse.

Ok so if some of the speakers are working then it's not the fuse.
So if the all lefthand side speakers stopped working at the same moment then sounds like the amp has potentially blown channel.
Time for a new amp.
Will a preowned one need coding in? If thats possible or is it just plug and play?
