V70 radiator drain plug location SOS
My wife clipped a low ice mound on the front left side of her car. Coolant immediately drained out. There appears to be no damage to the radiator. It just looks like the drain plug was ripped off. Can anyone tell me what the drain plug and/or cap look like? I see now a small tube end on the lower part of the radiator that looks like a hose or a cap should go over it. Car is a 2002 V70 T5 wagon. If anyone's got a pic or schematic that would be a huge help. Thanks in advance. James
Hey James; I don't think those radiators have a drain. My 960 and 850 and S70 do NOT. You drain those from the engine block. So, if something was knocked off, it likely broke the radiator.
My 1st gen v70xc (1999) has a drain plug on the front left side. It looks like a tube. When it is loosened, the coolant drains out through the tube.
If you remove the shroud, you'll see a drain plug. Just replaced my rad a few months ago. I know the underside of the radiator a bit too well.
I believe the correct term is pet-****.

Hit separated the seam between the aluminum and plastic. Now comes time to find good DIY on replacing. If anyone has any additional advice on swapping out the radiator, I would be grateful. 2002 v70 T-5.
I'm probably going to replace the thermostat in the process.
