Vibrating brakes
 

When I brake the front brakes feel like they're vibrating. I checked the run out and it's only .002 on both sides. It's not there for the first few brakes but after the brakes get hot it more noticable. On a side note, I installed these rotors 20K ago and used drilled and vented Brembo's. I also put on a off brand dustless pad and changed the brake fluid. Would this affect the braking?

If the pads are hard they will affect the braking and they might warp the rotors as well.

The biggest mistake most make is they fail to pair up the right pads with rotors. Doing so warps the rotor causing pulsation.

Only there cause is if it was sitting and rst developed on the pad.

You sure its the brakes? where is the fibration on the brake pedal or steering wheel?

I've been baffled a few times by this. If one pad is frozen, the runout of the rotor may be minimal when ambient, but under load and hot, the single pad action may periodically warp the rotor - periodically resulting in vibration.

Parked, the rotor will cool back to dead flat. Hot, it will warp - and pulsate. Since this problem is very difficult to diagnose, simply be certain both pads are loose enough in the caliper frame. It's the only way I know of to be certain. If one is seized, clean it up.

FWIW,

Had break surge after I had the new tires mounted. I rotated the tires and hand torqued the lugs. The surge went away. I suspect they overtorqued the lugs, and did so unevenly.

Worth a shot, and did not cost anything but a little time to try.
