Volvo v70 2014 t5

I have a 2nd hand high mileage Volvo. I will have to make a major repair rectifying cylinder heads and replacing valves. Is it worth to go fwd with the repair?
thanks

are you doing the work or having a shop doing the work? What exactly is being done to the head - replacing a burnt valve? replacing all the exhaust valves due to a timing belt failure etc? What are the symptoms that suggest the head needs work?

With all that, the way to see if any job is worth doing is to look at the book value of your car and estimate the cost for the repair. Lets say you find a replacement cylinder head for $500 on car-parts.com. Then I'd budget $1500 for a Volvo friendly mechanic to do the install. Is your car worth more than $2000? Can you sell as is and get within $2000 of book value? Now if you are capable of doing the work, then you are investing your time to save on the labor costs.
