Default What does "ASR" model mean?

I've been casually lookin' to replace my 850 with an 2001~2004 S60 or V70. I understand the differences between the; 2.4 NA, 2.4T, 2.4 T5, and R versions, but I've seen listed quite of few V70's listed with the term "ASR"

I'm assuming that was some sort of factory option? Do you know what features are added to the car for this?

Also does anyone know what comes with the"Sport Edition"?

Is there a FAQ online anywhere that might contain the above specs?

Thanks

Never heard of it, but that does mean it doesn't exist.

I did a GOOGLE search and found a CarDomain site that had this listed.

ASR for them means Automatic with Sunroof.

Now if that is what it really means I don't know but it does make sense.

Here's an example here;

Also if you do an Advanced Google search with the following entry;
volvo asr site:*.craigslist.org

You'll get a bunch of hits. I've seen others too at various online car shopping sites.

Automatic sun roof, sounds reasonable enough, just never seen anything really defined for it.

I have been told it is "automatic sun roof" low end model no turbo only fwd, no power seats... they had to put something on the rear hatch besides V70

I'm not sure about that, although im not a owner of a v70. My v40 ASR model is a 1.9 turbo AWD. ASR dosen't mean low end. also mine has power seats on the drivers side not on the pasenger. By the way I dont recall a year 2000 and up, volvo not being turbo charged its just their thing now i guess. On top of all my ramble's there is nothing but "Volvo V40" on my hatch but who knows. My year is 04' by the way. my guess is a v70 asr is a 2.4 turbo charged AWD wagon with some very good off roading capablitly.
