Odometer Reset and Strange Alarm Behaviour
Hi,
I have just bought a 2003 V70 and have had a few strange behaviours that I cannot explain.
Firstly whilst the car was locked during me paying for some fuel, the alarm appeared to activate itself. When I return to my car, all the indicators were flashing and the info deplay said the alarm had been activiated. I did not hear any siren go off though. The only thing that I could put this down to was a missed call on my mobile which was in the car. Could this have triggered the alarm? All the windows were shut.
Secondly I reset the odometer trip before a long journey. When I next used the car, this automatically had reset itself back to zero.
Are both of these problems that can be fixed by a software update? Is there anywhere I can find software revisions and what problems they address? When a dealer updates the software, is it done via request and are all updates applied?
Many thanks,
Rich

RE: Odometer Reset and Strange Alarm Behaviour
First thing if you never heard the siren go off there can be a fault in the siren causing it to arm and lock by it self.Is the car new or used? If it is used it can be set to lock by it self.Second do you know you have 2 trips on your car when turning key off it might default to the other one.Under warranty software upgrades will only be done towards the problem you are having with the car.You can try to ask for them to check if you need any.some times they will do them for you and other times they wont.If it isnt in warranty the are about $60.00 each i think.Hopefully i helped some.
