I have been reading so many posts about ALARMS that my head is spinning...
My question is, I have a 1998 V70 (Basic) loaded the options - DID THIS MODEL COME WITH AN ALARM? The specs sheets I have seen on-line indicate "YEP".
My key fob does NOT have a panic button. I just finished reading about the Alarm Relay, Alarm Horn and Hood Switch, so those are a few things I will check out when I return from my business trip.

If you have the horn you have an alarm.
Does the Red Led on teh dash flash when the car is locked?

 

If you mean the horn on th firewall that I have read about, I will have to check that out when I return from my business trip Friday evening. The LED does NOT light up when the doors are locked. The parking lights do flash.
