2010 XC60 192K Miles
 

Good afternoon everyone. Thanks for letting me join. I'm looking at possibly purchasing a 2010 XC60, with 192K miles on it. Carfax seems to indicate it's been maintained relatively well. I'd like to know what the folks on this forum think about an XC60 going another 50K miles or so.

plenty of people on this board have run redblocks and 850s/S70s to 250K miles or more. (my 850 was retired at 250K). So can you get a 2010 to go to 250K? of course. Will it need care and maintenance? Yes so you should budget accordingly if you are not going to do some of your own repairs. Best is to know the repair history and service documentation. Dealers tend to report maintenance to carfax, indy shops do not so its a good idea to ask the seller for any maintenance history. There's typical big ticket repairs to be aware of - PCV systems can clog over time, models with a timing belt have a replacement interval (typically 10 years/120K for most Volvos so just make sure you know when its done) - there are some easy tests for the PCV but slow oil leaks are a bad sign. Rubber parts like suspension bushings, control arms etc do wear out so you may need to get a professional inspection to check for worn part in the suspension, color/smell of transmission fluid, power steering/antifreeze etc.
