2017 volvo xc60 rolling when in park
Has any one had this ??? my 17 xc60 was on a very slight slope but it slowly rolled back now 3 times? last night it was ok for 10 hrs parked this is driving me crazy what it could be.Please if any one has any ideas?? Thanks

Are you bothering to set the parking brake? The transmission in park alone isn't enough to hold a vehicle on an incline.
|
Thanks I will try that .

Park is plenty to hold a car on an incline. When putting the car into park and then releasing thr brake, it is normal for the car be able to roll slightly until the trans hits the parking pawl. This is normal for every car with an automatic transmission so I'm not sure if this is what you're experiencing unless this is your first car ever parking on a hill.

In an extreme case, sure. But given that the original post said "very slight slope", I don't think it's going to sheer off any time soon.
|
My bet is they've already sheered off the parking pawl in the transmission, that's why it's rolling. Expensive mistake that can be avoided.
|
I'll take that bet.

I took the car to the dealer ,they parked it on a steep incline it did not move so there is nothing they can do.Also the car has been parked in the same place for 6 days and has not moved with no parking brake. Gremlins??? thanks for all the help.

Easiest bet I've ever won.
When you say it was moving, how far was it moving? |
the first time 4 ft overnight then 2 ft the next time . Thanks
|
Is it icy?

I just said on a "very slight slope", it isn't going to sheer the parking pawl, like you claimed.
Because it won't. |
