Hello all! Just acquired a new Volvo XC60 Recharge T8 Inscription and had a question the dealer could not answer. There is a lockable compartment on the rear lift gate and I am wondering what it is for. Dealer said for easy access for mechanics, but it really looks like it is meant to lock and hold something in place. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Reason: Changing title
that is exactly what I thought and found it odd that the dealership said otherwise. Is the caution sign for roadside break downs standard on all Volvo’s or an extra expense? Thanks for the answer, and I know I should go back and talk with the dealer about this stuff.

Nope, they actually have a space under the cargo mat for the charging cable.
thanks for your help everyone. I’m looking forward to this new adventure. Moving from a 2018 Ford Edge Sport to this is a game changer. I’m very excited about going from 17mpg on average to the hopefully 57empg.
