Coolant temperature XC60 T5 2018?

really depends on a lot of factors (air temp, how hard you are driving). Generally thermostats open at 190F or 195F and these cars use a sealed cooling system so they can go over 212F without issue. Under normal conditions, I'd expect to see something between 195F and 220F (90 to 105C) as a normal operating temp.. The big question would be at what temp does the fan kick in - my guess is somewhere in the 205-210F range when not using AC. I'd think that it should take 2-3 miles (ie 5 minutes) of normal light driving to get to 190F but I've never tested for that.

The morning it took 8 mins to get to 89 Deegrees Celsius. Then it dropped to 80. After that it fluctuated between 80 and 85 degrees.
This was on a 25 mins drive to work on a 80 km/hour road (low revs).
In city traffic it seems to fluctuate between 85 and 88 Celsius.
Are these values not too low?

I use the OBD2 app Car scanner.

So I was curious about this so yesterday I was driving my VW CC (2.0T) which has a temp gauge in the dash. On a 65F day, It took about 3-4 miles to get up to temp (about 7-8 minutes) and settled at 190F (87C) and stayed there for the rest of my drive (I kept my highway speed below 80 mph ....) So the 85C range seems pretty normal to me. Dunno if its your app or if you have a colder thermostat that wants to close up or how cold it was where you are.
