>>And man do I feel silly. The keyfob ONLY unlocks the gate/hatch. ![Embarrassment](https://volvoforums.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif)

My key fob will not open the rear gate/hatch.
It will unlock it, but the hatch will not raise, and then it closes itself.
The manual button on the gate/hatch works perfectly as does the button to close.
Could this be a battery issue with my key fob?
Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my FOB. The dealership said my key FOB was starting to "malfunction" they suggested I replace it with a new one. FYI the FOBs cost 185, and they have to order it, then they charge 285 to program the key fob. Also the actual metal key that is in the FOB does not come with the new KEY FOB. you have to buy that separately and then the key has to be cut by a lock smith who is given the format of the key from the dealership. the dealership said that whey will give the format of the metal key to just about most reputable lock smith, However it is just another charge and inconvenience. I spent total 775 for a new key fob, program, and metal key, and charge to have one cut. I would suggest use the 2nd spare key fob that came with your vehicle instead. However if that is the only key fob you have, you NEED to go get another one asap. Ours went out and it was the only one we had because my wife left her first one at the grocery store. when they go out completely all the function on the key fob do not work, and you have to physically put the key fob into the fob slot to get it started. you also have to use the metal key to get into your car.
