Want to order a 2019 XC60, when would it arrive?
My wife and I have always owned BMW's and Mercedes over our 17 years of marriage. We are currently sharing a 2015 BMW i3 since I work from home and she is the one who needs the car. We have found a way to share the car and make it work but there are limitation on the i3 travel given the 60 mile charge. The lease is up on 10-1-18 and the goal is to replace the leased i3 with a purchased XC60.
Any idea/guess around when Volvo's typically ships their new models? I heard that you will likely be able to place the order in July/August and in a perfect world it would arrive on 10-1-18. We have a Vespa 300 scooter and Lyft/Uber and could use that while we wait for the vehicle but would not like to wait until 2019.

We have really been thinking about stepping up to the XC90 for a few reasons. One, its the XC60 is bring built in China and two, we could still do our European delivery. The 12 weeks wait time is not an issue for us given our timeline in late August. The only thing we do not know is when the 2019 will be available.

I agree on second thoughts about the XC60 in China, but we went the other direction and looked at an XC40 yesterday. Nice vehicle but not as nice as the XC60, so we are looking at a BMW X3 next. It's just bad timing for us, as we need a new vehicle by the end of 2018 and it doesn't appear the XC60's will be back in Sweden any time soon. XC90 is just too large and more than we want to spend, and not thrilled with a 2 liter motor in a vehicle that large from a performance stand point.

I ordered a 2018 T6 XC60 Inscription in late Jan with estimated delivery in late June. That's 5 months because of production shift to China. I have the same concerns as some others.
1- Could additional delays occur as a result of the production shift?
2- Could there be assembly quality issues from the new production location?
3- Could the tariff issue effect delivery &/or price?
The alternative was to find a vehicle in the inventory pipeline but I wanted the luxury seat package in a dark color (dark brown) & there were no matches. If I am going to spend $60k on a vehicle, I am not going to settle for a vehicle that is not exactly what I want in terms of exterior color, interior color, or options. So I am waiting. I did consider BMW X3M40i (also in very short supply) & Audi SQ5 but really prefer the Volvo. Waiting for a 2019 was an even longer consideration in January. Not sure what the 2019 timing is as of today.
