Default Scratch on inside of windshield

Yes, you read that right, the scratch in on the inside of the windshield on our 2 month old xc60!!😫 Have no idea how it happened!🤷🏻‍♀️ Is there a way to repair it? Already reached out to safelite and they said it can’t be fixed, need to replace it for $1400+!

I’m hoping there’s someone out there who can help us….please!!!

how deep is the scratch? can you run your finger smoothly over the scratch without grabbing or getting stuck? Some autoglass repair shops may be able to buff/polish a shallow scratch but if its deeply etched then there's not too many options other than replacing the glass. Check with your insurance carrier to see if your policy covers the replacement. Also check with the dealer to see if it looks like a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty.

You should check your comprehensive deductible - mine is set to $100. Then a rock hits your windshield and the replacement is $100!

I can barely feel it. Not deep at all.

Check your insurance first, since comprehensive coverage often covers windshield replacement with little or no deductible. The car is also only 2 months old so it's worth calling your Volvo dealer to ask about goodwill coverage. Either way, get quotes from local independent glass shops because they'll almost always beat Safelite's price.
