Curious if anyone was aware that the 06 XC 70 has an ECT sensor attached to the thermostat which is enclosed in an housing and cost $160.00 Can. Some of the Non Volvo Mechanics in my area are not aware of this and cost me a good chunk of money proving it to me. I dont know if it is just the Canadian cars that have this but I was told mainly the 06 vehicles have it. The car was also throwing some codes for an ECT sensor and the Non Volvo Mech decided it was a feedback sensor in the heater controls-NOT. Anyway got a second opinion at a Volvo dealership and they replaced the fancy thermostat which has corrected the problem.
Just thought I would put this out there so no one learns this the hard way like I did.
