2000 V70 XC - Tailgate problems
 

2000 V70 XC, 167K Miles.

Having problems with the tailgate. Last several days, it hasn't wanted to shut properly - when you shut it, you can then lift back up on it & it will lift slightly, enough to turn on the interior light. I've checked the seal & everything is good there, do not have anything blocking it anywhere. But, you have to shut it pretty hard in order to get it to latch. Usually multiple times.

In doing so, the panel on the tailgate now is flopping around. I noticed it had pulled away from the metal and is loose now. I can see where it's supposed to go into the tailgate, but it won't catch in any of the holes where it lines up.

I'm not really sure what I need to ask for - a tailgate repair kit? Or do I need something else since the panel is loose now?

Would appreciate any advice, thoughts or pictures/how-to's.
