In car TV

My XC70 has a Volvo satnav/TV incorporated in the dash. Volvo tell me it has an analogue aerial and will not be able to pick up digital when the switchover comes. Does anybody know of any accessory to enable me to receive digital tv later in the year.

What brand of radio?

They may be brand specific? What you have is aftermarket ofcourse? Thee are several products out now that are outboard digital tuners and are in the $200 retail range. Don't expect to use your government coupon on one though! Better ones have buffers to hold the tv stations in the buffer incase you go behind a hill or building. At&T has CruiseCast also, Like having cable in your car, cost is $28 a month. I'm assuming that you are using this for back seat entertainment and not driving around watching TV?

TV

The tv/sat nav is a volvo own and is in the front dash. Also I am in the UK

Factory?

I don't think Volvo ever offered a factory tv in dash with built in tuner. Does it allow you to watch DVD's and tv braodcasts while you drive? I bet it's aftermarket but you probably couldn't tell from appearance.

My D5 V70 has factory fitted TV with the sat nav. This is definately factory fitted and does not play DVD's but picks up a TV signal. I have the same question as Lorraine and would like to know if there is anything on the market that can convert the signal, without having to pay a monthly subscription etc.
