considering a 2002 xc70 with around 80k miles

ive got an 88 240 that i drive and dont have to worry about, but my other vehicle is a 95 jeep cherokee and as much as i love it, it costs a fortune in gas to go just 300 miles and its just not a safe vehicle.

so im possibly looking at an 02 xc70 tomorrow with 80k on it. i actually work at a car lot and buy many of our cars at auction, so ill be able to get a good price (maybe :)). and as far as i know, this vehicle will be on a "green light" which means that if i get it back to the lot and the mechanic finds a major issue with it, it can go back.

ive heard the transmission stories with these vehicles and it seems like there are a bunch of different fixes, and some dont even get the problem. sometimes low mileage is a good thing and other times its a bad thing (maybe the owner didnt drive it much or maybe they didnt drive it much because it was in the shop). i could run a carfax but thats mostly worthless. on ipd, they say to replace the b4 servo and do a software upgrade if the problem comes up but is it really as simple as that?

anything else to look for aside from the trans? ive always wanted a volvo wagon. id prefer a newer one but right now, if i can stay in the 3-4k range itd be for the best.

The trany's is the only thing I have heard people complain about.
