crackle noise out speakers when washer applied
 

Hi there-

New 2003 XC70 owner. We picked it up for a fair price, everything seemed fine. We didn't test the washer when we bought it and honestly it probably wouldn't have shaken the deal.. anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone has any insight:

When the front washer/wiper is applied (lever pulled forward), the fluid comes out, wipers start, and at the same time the rear stereo speakers loudly crackle and buzz. It doesn't happen when the wipers run normally, though. Just the washer fluid. Just the front washer/wiper does this not the rear.

Any ideas?

Ours has done this for as long as we have owned it, but oppisite you it only does it with the rear washer, probably a common ground or some such thing, annoying but does not seem to harm anything:)

I may just have to give the kids in the back seat a warning first .. ha ha
