Differential noise ? when cold ??
1999 cross country with 126,000 miles.
This car is usually kept in a garage. After a visit to the mall in 15 deg. farenheit weather, and after sitting for about an hour and a half, the car started fine, and shifted into reverse and drive fine, but then made odd "scraping" noise as the car accellerated from 0-15 mph.Braking andsteeringhad no effect on noise, nor did engine speed. Therefore, seems to be related to wheel/driveshaft/differential.After about five or ten minutes, the sound went away completely. Seemed to be coming from front driver's corner, and definitely from the front of the car.
I think that the cold had something to do with it. Any thoughts? Thanks!!
