Engine intermittently stutters

Hello all,

I have a 2005 XC70 which has about 106,000 miles on it. I regularly maintain it and have never had any major issues with it. Recently, it started to sputter like it wants to stall (and even stalled one time during idle.) This happens while in idle or during acceleration (at any speed). It happens a few times each drive cycle. I had the spark plugs replaced and the fuel filter, but it's still happening. There are no DTC codes stored in current or history status. I have no idea what else it could be. Any suggestions?

The check engine light finally came on this past weekend. Three codes were stored: Fuel sensor signal missing, Fuel pressure too high, throttle body signal missing. I believe the throttle body is stuck closed intermittently, which would explain the high fuel pressure. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

I know if I take it to the dealer, they will want to replace the throttle body module, which I don't think is the issue and is very pricey.

Ok, I took it in to the dealer and paid the $120 diagnostics check. They told me I need to have the following replaced: Fuel pressure sensor, Vacuum Pump Switch, and Fuel Pump Electronics Module. They want $1300 for this. I looked online for parts and could only find a fuel pressure sensor. No one has any clue what the vacuum pump switch or the fuel pump electonics module is. I specifically asked the dealer if the fuel pump needs to be replaced and they said no.... only the fuel pump elec module (which appranantly does not exist.) WTF! Anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same issue, sputtering during acceleration and idle. It was a simple fix by replacing the ignition coil. Nobody seemed to mention this above. could be your answer?
