Flashing arrow after car was parked 3weeks
 

Hi guys,

I have read the forum for past 2 days and couldn't find anything on my problem.

About 3weeks ago i parked my car at my mechanic shop to get alternator and transmission mount replaced.
After i went to pick it up as soon i started the engine the flashing arrow and check engine light came on. When i put tranny on D the car bearly moves but rpm are high and looks like they work accordingly to the acceleration pedal. Reverse works just fine pullsstrong and smooth.

I have been fixing my volvo many times with this guy and never had any problems.

I don rally want to takeit to dealership and get overcharged.

Please let me know what are your thoughts.

I have a 95 volvo that ocassionally displays the flashing arrow, I know that if I turn my ignition on/off (do not start the car)for 5-6 consecuetive times it will reset.
However, this has worked for me and since replaced the gear posiion selector.

Good luck, and as always if you are not familar with the car please take it to a volvo dealer or volvo mechanic.

I would first check the transmission fluid level and to color to see what condition/amount of fluid you have it there. Ask the mechanic if he changed the fluid and if so, what type did he use. XC-70's from 2000 -up require a very specific type of fluid
