Headlight Wiper Motor

I have a 2000 Xc and the drivers side wiper sometimes when used will stay in the 12O clock position. I have to check the tightness of the 10mm nut as I saw posted, but noticed that I was able to return the wiper manually to the rest position without too much resistance from the motor, as opposed to the pass side one that is working perfectly cant move that one is this good or bad? Thanks Bill

The motors always go bad on these cars. On my own cars I unplug them as soon as I buy them.

Thanks I may just do that I think theyre unnessecery I mean when its icy or snowy dont bother, I like the newer volvos just a stream of washer fluid is used on the headlights no wipers!
How do I unplug them where is the plug located and I thought I read somewhere to just tie the washer hoses to each headlight in a knot to prevent fluid loss when using the windshield washer? Its a 2000 V70 XC Thanks Bill

There should be an Orange color plug around the headlight area. That should be the plug for the wipers. I just left my hoses alone.

Thanks I did find the plugs one on each side just as you said. I didnt unplug them yet I tightened the 9mm nuts on the end of the motor shaft on the wiper arm as wsas suggested by somone else, they were loose and it seems to be working fine. Thanks to you I have a backup plan, unplug em if they give me any more problems.
Thanks Bill

Glad they are working for now. I am not sure for how long though. LOL
