Hey Tech!! Seat Belt Button / Belt Locked down
 

Merry Christmas Tech..I saw you approach this question in another forum. Yes the button has popped off and the rear belt is locked in. It is the second time it has happend The firstI took it to Volvo and the wanted $300+ to fix it. I rode them a bit by calling other techs at other volvo dealers to determine that this is a common problem and they agreed to fix it along with a factory serviceI was having done. I suspect they will not do this again. Can I un-bolt the anchor of the belt to retract the wench enough to unlockit then pull the belt back out and replace the button?

Yes you should be able to unbolt the anchor and release the belt.
It most likely locked when folding the seat down.
In the future pull the belt out some then fold the seat down.

Thanks Man do you think riviting a large button steel possibly in the belt will also help?

IM not sure it is a game to have the seatbelt in the proper position to not lock when folding the seats down.
I have tried moving the button but same still happened.
Thats why I always pull the belt out some before folding the seats down.
