Inner door handle not working -fixed

My mother in law's 2002 XC70 had her front passenger inner door handle stopped working. I looked for a tutorial on how to remove the front door panel, but could not find one.

So here goes...

To remove the inner door panel first put a small thin object in the crack of the door pull. I used a putty knife. Pry the top of the door pull towards you and it will pop off. There are two T25 Torx screws inside the door pull. Remove them.
Next put a small screwdriver or the putty knife between the door panel and
The inner metal panel of the door next to one of the plastic plugs that hold the panel to the door. Gently pry up on the door panel above and below each plug until they pop out. Take the inner plastic pin out of each plug so that the plugs will go back into the door panel.

When all the plugs are out of the panel, gently pry on the plastic triangle behind the rear view mirror. It will pop out.

Pull the door panel out slightly then pull it straight up and off the door.
The door panel is connected to the door by the lock and window wiring, so do not yank it too hard.

In my case the cable that the door handle pulls on the open the door had popped off. I simply pushed it back into place and it worked.

To reattach simply line the door panel up with the door and slide it back into place. Reattach the two screws in the door pull, then take the plastic plugs, without their inner pins and push them through the holes in the door panel and into the door. You might have to move the panel slightly to get the holes lined up. When the plugs are in place, secure them by putting the pins through the center hole of each pin. Finally, push the plastic triangle back behind the mirror and put the door pull cover back on the door pull.

Very easy job which should take less than a half hour to finish...
