Oxygen sensor warning

On my 99 V70 awd on Thursday th electronic management light came on about an hour or so after ploughing through some heavy water. There was no change in performance and over the 90 miles back home felt nothing untoward .Took it to my non franchised Volvo dealer and the scan came up with front O2 sensor . the Light was reset and as it means a £300 Job chose to wait and see . So far now Sunday and lamp has not come back on and car is ok . Could this just be a glitch or is it likely to return I seem to recall in the past something about X number of cold starts after a reset. Any advice or information welcome
Thank you

If it comes back again I would replace it.

It might be an Intermitant heater element problem.
It is only going to get worse.
Pretty common.
But usually when the code comes up it needs one.
Also make sure there is no vaccum leaks.
