Hello to all. New guy here but have been browsing a bit. Our 04 XC70 has crossed the 50,000 mile mark. Time for its oil and filter so I thought I would browse the manual for maintenance suggestions and here as well. Really, a fuel filter at 100k? I see that timing belts are being replaced sooner than the manual suggests. My question is really what the average Joe does on his/ her XC at 50k- and what to plan for in the near future. Also, I've had the brake pads etc (OEM style from IPD) and a brake bleeder on the shelf in the garage since last year and it may be due by fall. Still the originals on the car. There is no pulsation, but there is a ridge an the outer edge of the rotors. Will there be a problem re-using them? TIA

 

Oil and filter change, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, transmission fluid flush (use the CORRECT FLUID), swap out the brake fluid (as it is over 4 years old), rotate the tires. Your car will thank you for it. As long as the rotors are not warped, you should be able to re-use them
