Transmission and TCM Compatibilty Question

As I posted a few days ago I was having a tranny problem in my 2000 XC70. I put in a used tranny from a '98 XC70 and was still having fault codes and tranny was shifting a little hard. At any rate after a diagnostic check at my local dealer I found out the hard way that a ’98 transmission is not compatible with a ’99 – ’00 XC70 due to an electrical change made in ’99. So my question is this, if I install a computer from a ’98 XC70 to match the ’98 tranny I already installed will they then work together? If so would any reprogramming be necessary or can I just clear any codes that are left? Also, where exactly is the Transmission computer located on a ’00 XC70? Thanks for any suggestions!!!

You cannot install the 98 TCU. There is no way it will work.
