turbo oil return tube gasket and o ring
 

I have a small oil leak on my '99 V70XC that the dealer says is the turbo oil return tube gasket and "o" ring. I would like to do this job myself (as they quoted $300). I have the parts found from fcp groton. Can someone walk me thru this process of changing them, or suggest a link that may show it?

Its pretty straight forward, here is a picture, you may need a pry bar to move slightly some coolant lines.

Remove:

• remove the clamp between the pipes.
• the oil return line.

I will try, but really it just a picture of under the car and i think it may be wrong because you have AWD and the bevel gear may be in your way, is this correct?

This car is an AWD, yes.

I just fixed this and it was a pain, on the awd models you can not get at the bolts to seperate the return line from the turbo. I ended up seperatiung the turbo from the cast iron exhaust side and carefully manuvering it so the end came out of the oil pan. Had to remove cooling lines and oil supply, banjo connectors. be careful to avoid damaging the new gasket

It os a pain but can be done without removing the turbo.

You have to be creative you will either have allen or torxes 30 head screws.
I use a long 1/4 extension with a swivel to get the screws out. There is also a clamp with a 10MM screw between the oil feed line and return line.
Once the return line is loose then use a prybar or long screwdriver to slightly bend the one coolant line in the way from getting the pipe to swing out. Then you have to work your hand up to get the return pipe out.

It will take a little time but be patient and you will get it.
