What's this on the back seats?
 

Along the top edge of the back of the rear seats are two spring loaded cover concealing a space that appears to be designed for a roll up shade or something. What is this?

On my car 2000 V70XC inside those compartments isnetting that you pull up like a shade and attach to the roof to keep packages and your dog etc from jumping over the back seats (two seperate nettings, the drivers side, passengers side) Pull them up and they connect to eachotherwith a rod and then connect to the roof or headliner.I think its pretty ingenious on volvo's part and I also like how i can fold down the rearseatsand the bottom cushions also fold out of the way, gives you lots of room if you need it! I havemy netting foldeddown, no kids or dogs!! Hope this helps, Bill

Thanks all. Since this is obviously missing on my car, I am thinking about ordering it. Is it a dealer only part? What is the official name to ask for to avoid confusion with some of the other nets a gates available?
