Would you trade an XC-70 for an XC 90
 

I'll post this on the XC 90 forum as well, but as the title says, would you trade? The wife loves the XC70, but she says she needs something with a little more room. Personally I think both vehicles are similar in size. Also, can you tell me the pros and cons of the XC 90, and years to stay away from (or look for for that matter). Feel free to PM if you would like

Glenn, I've read some recent posts about the transmissions going early on the XC90. The cost to replace is in the $4000 range. Also, not that this matters,I passed one today and thought it to be tall and unsightly.

I have a XC70 and my friend has a XC 90. Overall the XC70 is a better buy. The 90 is more of a status thing. The 70 is better on gas, has more horizontal cargo capacity, more versatile, tighter turning radius and seems to be better on the highway. My friend may trade his in for a 70. Does anyone else think they tried to hard on the design of the new XC70?? Myself and others feel it has lost its ruggedness design and looks cheap.

I have to agree with all those points. The XC90 is just for show, imo. I think it appears larger or gives you the sense that its larger (it's an suv after all, so it has to be bigger?) There seems to be quite a few vehicles lately that are big on the outside and small on the inside. I say stick with what you already have.... unless the wifey just has to have it. Then you have to make the switch.

Third row seats is the only reason I can think of.
