2016 Volvo XC90 brakes and rotors

I need to replace the front and back brakes/rotators (I think). I got a quote for $1,500 from a non-dealer & $500 for just pads from a dealer. I want to buy the parts and find someone to install. Any recommendations on which to buy? Also, do you think it should be done by a dealer only?

In my opinion, the OEM breaks are undersized for the vehicle.

I made the mistake of just having the dealer swap mine years ago and 20k later I can feel one of my rotors is warped (pulsing on heavy break). If I could do it over again I would research top-notch rotors/pads, pay the extra there rather than the dealer.

It would be nice to get better calipers, but I think that's a bit of an overkill for average use.

This is one repair you don't need the dealer for, anyone can do this.

Talk to the guys at BuyBrakes.com. No, I am not sponsored by them or anything, but I did use them for my 2019 XC90 brake job. I ordered EBC performance rotors and yellow stuff pads, MUCH BETTER performance than stock, though there is a lot of brake dust from the pads. EBC has some less aggressive compounds that reduce the dust, but still perform much better than stock. I agree with the poster above, brakes are undersized. My rotors went after 10K of city driving.
