Camshaft Lifter Control

Camshaft Lifter Control
Hello all.
I'm new to posting on this site, so thanks for any thoughts you can provide.
I've got a 2013 Volvo XC-90 with a dashboard that is lit up like a Christmas tree. Ho, ho, ho.
Just about every light is on, but the one of most concern is the "Check Engine" light. I used a BlueDriver code reader and got the P003F - "A" Camshaft Profile Control Stuck on Bank 2. This caused the car to go into limp mode at one point (only could drive 20mph).
I took it to a local Stealer and they said it needed a "camshaft lifter control to start $160 initial diagnosis + $340.58 to replace". I'm fairly familiar with cars, but I can't figure out what a "camshaft lifter control" is and how I would find the part and then replace it.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Gratefully,
Jim
